I grew up in what is now Lithuania, a small country on the Baltic Sea, which at that time was enveloped into the Soviet Union. A place where store shelves were empty and we had to rely on ourselves to have food. So, our pantries, root cellars and gardens were always full of beautiful real foods. When I was growing up I dreamed to someday come to America and I believed everything Americans did was best. So, when I arrived here, the low-fat diet was the big trend and I joined the wagon.
Unfortunately, a few years later my health start failing and on my visit back home I visited a doctor. My doctor told me that if I keep doing what I was doing and eating my low-fat diet, in 6 months I wouldn’t be around to need doctors anymore! I began researching what needed to do to improve my health when I realized that what my grandmas were cooking was truly the best.
All of my researching sparked a growing awareness in the effects of nutrition and I needed to learn more and I began looking for school to attend. However, when I read through the curriculums of other programs, I knew I didn’t want to attend the schools where they were teaching low-fat diets. When I found NTA and read their curriculum I was so excited to start the class, and loved every minute of their course.
I learned not only from amazing teachers, but from passionate fellow students, the program inspired me so much I developed a new healthy product of mineral rich fish broth. The school not only gave me my health back, it gave me a whole new purpose in life!
